About the position

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Communication, the Content Development Senior Specialist works across the organization to identify and curate stories that build awareness, understanding and support for StriveTogether’s mission. This includes developing content for the annual report, case studies, reports, speaking events and the StriveTogether website.
Responsibilities

Content development

• Work closely with the Development and Network Strategy functions to identify and create stories from the Cradle to Career Network
• Work closely with the Senior Digital Marketing Specialist and Marketing and Communication Director to serve up stories in way that expands the reach and engagement of StriveTogether’s website
• Copyediting your work and the work of others to ensure content reflects StriveTogether’s brand voice and style guidelines

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications preferred
• Five to 10 years of experience as a professional communicator, experience working in a newsroom a plus
• Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience communicating complex topics and concepts in a clear, concise manner to audiences with varying levels of expertise
• Strategic storytellers able to craft stories with a clear purpose: share knowledge, build will or reinforce action
• Deep knowledge of AP Style Guidelines
• Clear passion and track record in communicating about racial and ethnic equity or social justice issues
• Strong collaborator, able to move seamlessly across teams to identify objectives and key audiences for content
• Strong time management skills, with the ability to deliver high quality content under tight deadlines
• Effective collaboration skills with the ability to integrate diverse thinking and feedback during multiple rounds of revisions
• Ability to be self-directed and independent, with a track record of taking initiative and delivering on commitments
• Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with experience organizing and prioritizing work quickly in response to changing needs
• Unwavering commitment to racial equity
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud programs (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) a plus but not required
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Details of the position: The Content Development Senior Specialist position is a full-time exempt position.   The salary range for this position is $66,000-$98,000. StriveTogether offers competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with experience and skills.
