We’re seeking a future team member in the role of Senior Associate Database Engineer (DBA) to join our Issuers Services Technology Group in the Structured Debt Client Platform team. This role is in PGH or Lake Mary – HYBRID.

As a junior DBA, you will be instrumental in designing, maintaining, and supporting multiple databases. Your knowledge of database administration on Oracle databases will play a pivotal role in ensuring the scalability, performance, and robustness of the Structured Debt Client Applications.

      In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and external vendors on all database related activities.
  • Assist development teams on database design and modelling and creating physical database structures.
  • Utilize your knowledge in Oracle database to design, develop and optimize data models for seamless storage within a distributed system.
  • Conduct regular database performance reviews and work with the teams to remediate the performance bottlenecks and provide recommendations.
  • Assist on code deployments for various environments and debug issues by working closely with the development teams.
  • Maintain all database environments to be more resilient and address all vulnerabilities in timely manner by applying recommendations from database vendors.

     To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 1+ years of experience in database administration.
  • 2-6 years of experience with Oracle Database Administration activities such as installation, configuration, and patching on Linux/AWS RDS
  • Experience should include performance tuning, storage management, backup, recovery, managing schemas, report generation and DB clustering technologies.
  • Practical experience of ORACLE in a production RAC (ASM) environment (11gR2/19c) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AWS Cloud database services like AWS Aurora (Postgres/MySQL) is a plus.
  • RMAN Optimization Setup Oracle Data Guard and troubleshot data sync issues
  • Experience with Oracle Golden Gate is plus.
  • Provides technical support to application development teams. The DBA is usually the point of contact for Oracle Corporation for any SRs to resolve.
  • Willing to learn/adapt to new database technologies.
