Full-Time Senior Associate, Corporate Tax Lead Business Analyst (BA)

Job Description

The Tax Compliance Quality Assurance (TCQA) Team is seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate, Lead Business Analyst. This role is located in New York, Hybrid.

The Business Analyst (BA) will interact with Business users, Relationship Managers, Senior Management, Operations, Technology and Support Teams regularly, to provide support for a newly launched U.S. Tax Form W-8/W-9 Documentation Tool. The BA will contribute to the continuous development and improvement of the Tool, set up grooming sessions to discuss future enhancements, and ensure rigorous testing is performed prior to any roll outs.  The BA will also play a large role performing project management functions. Specifically, the BA will be tasked with driving business planning, ensuring projects stay on schedule and providing regular updates to the stakeholder community.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document the ‘current state’ of tax functions/processes, and any BAU challenges.
  • Conduct independent reviews of business processes, data quality issues, and propose process improvements.
  • Draft business requirements, functional documents, and technical user stories.
  • Work closely with team members to develop test plans and create detailed test cases in JIRA
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect management.
  • Develop user manuals/documentation and provide training to stakeholders using the U.S. Tax Form W-8/W-9 Documentation Tool.
  • Assist with the onboarding and user provisioning of new clients to the U.S. Tax Form W-8/W-9 Documentation Tool.
  • Assist with data review and clean up exercises.
  • Lead periodic meetings with stakeholders and assist with updating monthly decks which includes timelines, project updates, accomplishments risks, issues, and dependencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor‘s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience leading requirement gathering sessions, taking meeting notes and documenting any new requirements from those sessions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Analytical skills and proficiency in analysing exceptionally large datasets.
  • Experience with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • 3-5 years of total work experience preferred.
  • 1 – 5 years business/data analyst experience
  • 1 – 5 years of project management experience

Preferred qualifications include experience/familiarity with:

  • Tax Information Reporting and Withholding (e.g., 1446f, FATCA, NRA, BUW, 8966 Reporting)
  • IRS Tax forms W-8/W-9, due diligence, and various tax onboarding, withholding reporting requirements.
  • Tax operating model transformation, including process improvements.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Prince2 certification
  • Experience with PowerBI, Power Query, UIPath,
