Full-Time Senior Accountant
Job Description
ABOUT THE POSITION: The Senior Accountant is responsible for serving as a team leader in the finance department. The position requires excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to ensure the department creates accurate and timely financial reports and records for the organization. The Senior Accountant must ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all the accounting tasks, such as fulfilling the project accounting and cost reporting requirements of multiple mid-sized construction projects, interacting with funders, and providing oversight of professional and/or technical accounting staff, all with an emphasis of providing excellent customer service.

LOCATION: Headquarters in Pioneer Square Downtown Seattle, WA
REPORTS TO: Controller
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SCHEDULE: Weekdays with evenings and weekends as needed
SALARY RANGE: DOE and within Compass ranges

QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree is required in accounting or related field.
CPA designation and/or master’s degree in related field, desired.
A minimum of 5-years of demonstrated experience with general accounting or government funded non-profit accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, desired.
Prior work experience with Abila/MIP accounting software and Boston Post, desired.
Familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, desired.
Or relevant work experience, certificate and/or equivalent continuing professional development or education.
