Full-Time Senior Accountant
Job Description
DomainTools, a fast growing SaaS company, is seeking a number loving, detail oriented and driven Senior Accountant who will serve as a key contributor to the small but high performing Accounting and Finance team. The Senior Accountant will be an expert in recording accounting transactions, reporting from our general ledger and supporting the business. The Senior Accountant will work cross functionally to ensure that cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid assets, fixed assets and intercompany transactions are recorded and reported appropriately.
The ideal candidate will be an energetic and analytical self-starter, who loves problem solving and working in a dynamic environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an eagerness to learn are critical to the success of this role. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.
This role is located in Seattle, WA, USA, You may work from home but must be located within the Greater Seattle area
Requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the accounts payable function.
- Own and manage the accounts receivable function.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation and apply cash deposits.
- Manage all accounting processes and schedules for fixed assets, including additions, disposals, leases and related depreciation.
- Manage all accounting processes and schedules for prepaid expenses and ensure amortization is accurate in the general ledger.
- Post and reconcile revenue recognition entries in accordance with contract details
- Review customer contracts for completeness and accuracy
- Analyze and remit sales and use tax for applicable states
- Record and ensure intercompany transactions are accurate.
- Perform month-end close activities including preparing account reconciliations, booking month-end journal entries, and providing flux analysis.
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements.
- Support the annual audit, preparing and providing necessary documentation and support.
- Assist in budget creation and the monthly monitoring of budget vs. actuals by department.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis for senior management as well as various other accounting and finance projects and initiatives as needed.
- Assist in improving the accounting and financial reporting processes by helping to evaluate new processes and opportunities to add value and efficiency.
- Interact effectively with teams across the organization including Revenue Operations, Account Management, Sales, and Legal.
Requirements:
- GAAP knowledge – passionate about numbers and can contribute to an efficient close process.
- Strong organization – prioritizes multiple business-critical projects and initiatives to ensure no deliverables slip through the cracks.

- Experience/Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience (full time or internship), 1 year in public accounting preferred
- Strong knowledge of general accounting, financial reporting and GAAP concepts
- CPA or workings towards CPA preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Netsuite is preferred
