Full-Time Senior Accountant

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Senior Accountant within our Accounting team to help support our business. PHC is a leading supplier of hydraulic cylinders for material handling, construction, agriculture, and transportation markets. As a Senior Accountant you will have the opportunity to self-manage in order to meet all company requirements. This role is for a self-starter who enjoys digging into the details, creating process improvements, and has ambitions to grow in the accounting organization.
So, what will you be doing as a Senior Accountant?
- Assisting in Month End Close and other GL Accounting activities
- Preparing quarterly and monthly internal reporting and related financial analysis
- Developing, modifying, and updating financial models
- Maintain relevant controls and address internal and external audit requirements
- Respond to ad hoc requests and report requirements as needed
- Contribute to establishing and maintaining a positive team spirit through supportive and constructive attitude
- Collaborates with warranty department to issue credits to customers
- Coordinates with, and prepares reports for Controller, CFO and senior leaders
- Ensures compliance with internal controls procedures
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Post-secondary degree from an accredited University in Accounting, Finance, Business or related
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of accounting experience
- Demonstrated understanding and application of accounting concepts and US GAAP
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- PowerQuery, PowerBI, Access, SSRS, SQL, Python – knowledge in one or more of these, or another equivalent
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel capabilities
- ERP experience
- Ability to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work and multi-task
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Proactive, self-educating, process improvement mindset
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to breakdown complex accounting issues and present outcomes to diverse audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly skilled in math, accounting, and financial processes
Things we consider a plus
- Professional designation (CMA, CPA) preferred
- Hyperion HFM, SmartView or OneStream experience
- Ability to build and run SQL statements
- Infor Visual ERP experience
- Ability to research and troubleshoot software issues.
