Position Summary:
Trupanion is looking for a success-driven and proven sales professional to join the Inside Sales Team! This person will play a fundamental role in driving growth and engagement within veterinary hospitals with Trupanion’s services.
This is a blended field/virtual role and the right candidate must be confident in making and taking 20-30 sales visits a day. The role will be working directly with veterinary hospitals to generate interest in Trupanion and educate veterinary professionals on why medical insurance for dogs and cats is exceptionally valuable. This role also partners heavily with our Territory Partners (Trupanion’s Field Sales Executives) to collaborate on the management of partner hospital accounts. Success in this position is based on lifting enrollments (same-store sales) at assigned accounts.
This position is a hybrid in person/remote role, with travel to all over Washington state and norther Idaho required up to 50% of the time. When not traveling, candidates can work remotely from their home office in the greater Seattle area, or out of our Seattle headquarters, depending on their preference.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Relationship Sales:
- Responsible for developing relationships with assigned territory or hospital partners.
- Connect with key players in the veterinary hospital on a regular cadence to educate on the benefits of an insured client base, discuss individual hospital performance, and coach on any challenges or successes at the hospital level
- Executes the growth strategy of the Trupanion brand by working with territory partners
- Spend time identifying potential hospital partnerships (Prospecting) and working with field sales to add new partners
- Train partnered veterinary hospitals on Trupanion software
- Liaison with Trupanion Territory Partners to strategize and lead direction about assigned accounts/territory
- Generate and lift activity that our services provide, namely with enrollments, within Trupanion Partner hospitals
- Set and execute monthly and quarterly goals at the territory level
- Ability to partner and collaborate well in cross functional teams
- Travel to territory and hospitals within, in-person is expected about ~40-50%
Territory Diagnostics
- Strong ability to connect market performance to company priorities
- Creates and implements sales tactics designed to grow market and increase brand loyalty
- Deep knowledge of the competitive landscape and understands what drives hospital behavior
- Stays current on product and pricing changes & and has the ability to respond to market trends
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the competitive landscape of the territory
Leadership:
- Coordinates with leadership and field sales to create territory initiatives to drive growth
- Works with their team to create territory key performance indicators and metrics to measure growth and engagement
Qualifications

Experience:
- 5+ years building and maintaining long term client relationships and acquiring new customers
- 3+years leading and developing sales teams
- Veterinary experience is a plus!
- Multi-lingual a plus (not required)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including fluency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint with preferred exposure to CRM Platforms
