So, what are we looking for?
We have an immediate opening for a Senior Account Director in based out of Atlanta, GA. office. For this role, you need to be a media junkie with an entrepreneurial spirit who is hungry to build up and build out. We’re looking for someone that understands the media landscape and how to navigate between the different facets and verticals that our diverse roster of brands is trying to reach. You have experiencing leading communications and marketing strategies, counseling clients, leading multiple teams, and are comfortable working across media relations, partnerships, social media and celebrities/influencers. Add to that, you’re cool as a cucumber under pressure and exude natural gravitas in a room. If this sounds like you, keep reading! You have successfully established brag worthy media moments on behalf of others, you can single handedly run a messaging or strategic planning workshop and you can masterfully navigate sensitive or crisis situations. You can develop, lead and execute a thoughtful communications strategy. You hustle for good, you don’t take no for an answer and you get excited about establishing unlikely partnerships for greater exposure. You are a skilled leader who can manage, grow and inspire teams.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and cultivate a local growing team (Atlanta-based team)
- Leading global or national media campaigns to reach multiple stakeholders.
- Developing and executing comprehensive communications strategies that include taking complex issues and developing a bite size narrative for a consumer audience.
- Providing thought leadership opportunities for clients and serving as a senior leader within the agency.
- Managing complex client issues and leading sensitive and stressful situations with reason.
- Leading client accounts and conducting media trainings for Sunshine Sachs clients, top executives and influencers.
- Partnering and collaborating with Senior Directors and VPs throughout the agency on integrated and bi-coastal accounts.
- Leading new business meetings and creating proposals.
- Training and mentoring junior staff on the inner workings and execution of current policies, social good movements and campaigns, PR, media relations, and overall work approach.
- Responding to client requests and ensuring requests are efficiently and thoughtfully handled.
- Support administration of accounts including developing agendas, meeting recaps, activity reports, client status reports and budget trackers.
You should apply if:
- You have at least 10 years working in PR, across a variety of industries including: non-profit, healthcare, tech, entertainment, or corporate.
- You have managed a team with direct oversight for at least 4 years (of those 10 mentioned above).
- You can manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously.
- You understand how to navigate the regional market. You know and have a pulse on Atlanta influencers, thought leaders and media.
- You have established press contacts and have your “go-to” folks to get the important message out.
- You are a strong writer – persuasive, concise, creative, and quick.
- You are excited about pitching new business.
- You are creative and like pitching media.
- You are a strategic thinker, bring new ideas to the table, and love a good brainstorm.
- You have strong decision-making abilities and can take ownership, even when it’s not a win.
- You are curious and have an entrepreneurial spirit, and you can point to specific examples of how you’ve improved a process or system.
- You are incredibly organized and have created processes to keep projects, clients, and teams on track.
- You’re willing to work occasional evenings/weekends and travel when necessary.
- You enjoy overdelivering rather than meeting expectations.
- You’re self-aware, you know what you don’t know and you love new perspectives.
- You’re friendly, nice, patient, generous and can check your ego at the door.
You don’t HAVE to have this, but it sure would be nice:
- Entertainment, tech, healthcare, tech, politics, film, etc.
- Previous experience working with and managing teams in multiple locations
- Experience working with global clients.
- Passionate about various types of equity and believe that you can make a difference with your words.
