The Submarine Delivery agency (SDA) have a unique and exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Planner based at MOD Abbeywood, Bristol.
As an SDA Senior Planner, you will be responsible for the Planning & Scheduling (P&S) discipline in the Dreadnought Supply and Support Team (DSST). DSST was established in 2018 to act as the MOD supplier into our customer, the Dreadnought Alliance – a dedicated organisation acting as the Programme Team made up of SDA, BAE and Rolls-Royce personnel. DSST has 2 distinct responsibilities; the delivery of one third of the class’ material to the shipbuilder, BAE; and the Transition into Service of the Class, including the defining and delivery of the Training and Support Solutions as well as the conducting of Sea Trials prior to the submarines’ first patrol.
In the role you will be accountable for the maturity and delivery of the MOD schedules inputs into the Alliance Integrated Master Schedule, conducting Schedule Risk Analysis and working with The Alliance to ensure that the Dreadnought dependency management system is maintained, accurate, analysed and reported in an effective way so that best-for-programme decision making can be implemented across the enterprise, whilst also leading and upskilling your planning and scheduling team as well as other Project Controllers. Using your exemplary stakeholder management skills, you will work in a complex international stakeholder environment establishing planning and scheduling procedures that will impact other SDA teams and respective supply chains, and you must be able to adapt approaches in order to satisfy both SDA Business Requirements and that of our customer. Ultimately, you will have responsibility to lead on the planning, scheduling and analysis of all DSST activity for the totality of the class acquisition and work alongside BAE, Rolls-Royce and The Alliance to ensure that Dreadnought is on Patrol in the early 2030s.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include to lead the Planning and Scheduling discipline for DSST:
• Run planning events and conduct extensive planning to ensure all requirements and scope are captured
• Develop and maintain complex integrated schedules underpinned by robust planning artefacts
• Be an advocate for P&S processes and ways of working utilising previous knowledge (LFE) and Project Delivery best practice
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
• Provide robust data analysis to make informed business decisions and manage Project Delivery
What you will be assessed against
To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
• Extensive experience of managing and interfacing with complex suppliers/stakeholders
• Planning and Scheduling in a complex Project/Programme environment with a proven track record of implementing P&S methodologies (APM Project Planning, Monitoring and Control or equivalent)
• Experience of managing Project Change and the impact of change on the schedule and planning artefacts
• Experience of Performance Management / Earned Value Management (APM EVM or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of how Project Costs are managed and estimated, and how they are integrated into the Project Plan
• Strong understanding of how Project Risks are managed and using the interface between Risk and Schedule conduct regular Schedule Risk Analysis (Oracle PRA preferred) to provide confidence in delivery
It would benefit your application if you be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 Planning software or other leading planning software
• Strong data analysis skill set
• Proven team management and development skills
