An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Risk Administrator to join the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) in HMNB Devonport.
Superintendent Submarines (SUSM) is responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, repair and disposal of the Royal Navy’s fleet of Nuclear Submarines. Consisting of a number of complex maintenance projects essential for CASD and fleet operation.
As a Risk Administrator, you will be looking at the management of risk for these vital defence projects, to identify, manage and reduce risk exposure through oversight of project risk activities.

If successful you will become part of the Project Controls Team, working for the Project Controls Lead alongside Schedulers, Finance, Estimator and a Senior Risk Manager who together are responsible for all aspects of project planning scheduling,cost estimating and monitoring. In your role you will be assisting the team’s approach to managing risk. You will help pre-emptively identify risks, monitor risk continuously, and develop contingency plans to address and mitigate issues. Through this, you will help to reduce impact on budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate risk workshops on projects to identify and manage specific project related Threats, opportunities and issues.
    • Manage risk tool entries ensuring data is up to date in accordance with agreed trigger points and mitigation action plans.
    • Produce detailed project risk reports within the Operating Centre (OC) programme reporting cycle.
    • Provide risk management support, including reporting, for business assurance.
    • Understanding and interpretation of supplier risk data for incorporation into risk understanding and profile.
    • Write and maintain the Risk Management Plan.
    • Own the risk reporting and monitoring tasks ensuring effective interface between engineers, project managers, planners, and cost estimators and cost finance.
    • Provides the project team with pro-active risk information to allow project team to understand current risk position, risk proximity and pro-active management actions.
    • To communicate key project threat and opportunity management data to key member of the project, programme and leadership.
    • To influence Leadership within Project and Supply chain within the Risk technical field.

    What you will be assessed against
    To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essentialcriteria:
    • Proven working knowledge of the Risk Management Processes
    • Evidence of working in collaboration with multiple stakeholders at all levels
    • Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior personnel
    • Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities

    It would benefit your application should you be able to demonstrate the following desirablecriteria:
    • APM qualification/APM Project Risk Management (PRM)/Single Subject Risk Certificate Level 1
