Job description
As the IM/IT Functional Lead you will be responsible for workforce and succession planning for IM/IT staff across the Submarine Delivery Agency. This includes career management, training and development, inclusive of arranging mentoring and coaching, and development of input/output modelling to direct recruitment activity leading to a resilient workforce.
As the IM/IT Functional Lead, you will act as the single focal point for all IM/IT staff, and you will have responsibility for promoting the importance of IM/IT as an enabling function within the business.
The role manages a range of statutory requirements including data protection and records management and leads on the development of customer agreements with MOD IM/IT delivery agents.
Responsibilities
As the IM/IT Functional Lead you will be working within the Information, Security and Resilience Team of the Submarine Delivery Agency:
You will:
• Manage a small delivery team and be required to support workforce planning.
• Oversee and monitor the quality of information produced and distributed.
• Contribute to the strategic direction and management of SDA Information policies.
• Develop and deliver plans for your area of responsibility to align to corporate business needs.
• Undertake Relationship Management across your stakeholder group maturing the relationships, including senior management briefings & engagement.
• Act as functional lead for Information Management & Informational Technology (IM/IT).
• Look after learning & development within IM/IT.
• Own succession plans and engender talent management.
• Be accountable & take ownership of cultural change within the information domain for the SDA.
• Be accountable for the Agency’s response to DPIA and the Public Records Act (1958).
Responsibilities:
• Act as IM/IT Functional Manager
• Owner of inflow/outflow models for succession planning
• Develop IM/IT career paths and development plans
• Record management & DPIA statute responses
• Cultural Change Agent for IM/IT
What you will be assessed against
To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
• You must have great communication skills & be a good influencer.
• Have previously worked in IM/IT and understand the roles as a business enabler
• Experience of workforce management and succession planning
• Experience in exceptional delivery of customer services.
• Have experience delivering major information change programmes
It would benefit your application should be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• Understanding of how the defence industry works
• Beneficial background in information management policy
• Have experience of management of DPIA and Records Management
