Full-Time Sanitation Operator
Job Description
The City of Oshkosh, WI is seeking to fill Sanitation Operator vacancies. The work of the Sanitation Operator involves using automated and manual vehicles to collect, transport, and dispose of garbage, recyclables, and brush material.
Work mainly involves collecting garbage, recyclables, and brush, loading it into collection vehicles, and delivering it to the transfer station/landfill. Some discretion is required when entering private property and while handling limited public contacts. The employee will also perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment, related policy and code enforcement, record keeping, and duties of general labor in street maintenance and construction when not performing sanitation duties.
Minimum Requirements: Qualified candidates will have a Class B CDL with no air brake restriction at time of application, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of one year of experience within the past five years in operation of a tandem truck.
Schedule: This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. Normal hours are Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (40 hours/week).
Salary/Benefits: Pay ranges from $50,710.40 – $57,948.80 depending on qualifications. Benefits offered include medical, dental and vision insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, and participation in the WRS State Retirement System.
