Job Description
The Salesforce Architect will play a critical role in defining and creating the bank’s Salesforce.com platform and application solutions and will oversee the overall technical management, monitoring, health and governance of the platform. The Salesforce Architect will work with enterprise-wide business line executive and staff constituents to build or select additional Salesforce.com platform solutions that meet evolving business requirements in ways best suited to support long-term platform utility and cost efficiency. The Salesforce Architect will have the authority to intervene when targeted products, solutions or customizations would adversely impact the long-term, enterprise-wide benefit of the Salesforce.com platform. The incumbent will define, recommend, implement and communicate the necessary ongoing Salesforce.com management, maintenance and support best practices for the enterprise. The Salesforce.com Architect will be responsible for the overall health and management – including the formulation and recommendation of operational, upgrade and general management governance, policies and standards for the platform.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide senior technology governance, management, monitoring and control over the bank’s Salesforce.com platform architecture.
- Ensure ongoing evolution maximizes value and utility while minimizing operational costs and risks.
- Oversee and lead the consistent adoption and usage of platform releases and capabilities.
- Work closely with executives and staff throughout the organization as well as consulting organizations to identify opportunities to gain competitive advantage and improve operational efficiencies through the use of the Salesforce.com platform.
- Provide platform-level architectural, design and operational oversight for applications and tools built on the Salesforce Platform.
- Provide platform-specific development standards and practices as well as technical oversight, requirements, review and assessment of internally and consultant-developed implementation projects on the Salesforce.com platform.
- Assess and manage overall platform licensing oversight, planning and acquisition as required.
- Define, manage, control and enable multiple Salesforce organizations and environments as required. Constantly evaluate and seek opportunities to right-size Eastern’s license commitments.
PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION MAKING:
The Salesforce Architect will provide broad technical oversight for Eastern’s use of the Salesforce platform. This senior technology role will define operational, development and implementation standards for the platform and will develop and enforce the controls required to assure consistent use as well as data quality and protection. It will be expected that the incumbent provide alternative viewpoints and directions in software selection, project definition and requirements and software development execution to ensure the best long-term stability and reliability of the platform. Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of overall enterprise application development experience; or consulting or professional services background.
- 3+ years of proven experience with Salesforce architecture, administration, design, and project leadership
- Salesforce Certification a plus
- Previous systems integration experience and experience integrating Salesforce with 3rd party system using web services and app exchange apps.
- Experience setting up Salesforce Web to lead, Web to case, customer portal, force.com sites, Reports and Dashboards
- Experience using Salesforce data tools (Data Loader, Force.com Explorer, Workbench, Eclipse Force.com IDE).
Skills/Knowledge:
- Multiple years of experience in a progressive technology environment.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively research and communicate complex technical issues and resolve problems at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
- Self-directed and comfortable working in a face-paced environment where priorities can change with limited notice.
