Salary Range: $19.00 – $22.80
This position performs specific duties in conducting pre-employment background check responsibilities by processing fingerprint screening and issuing security badges for new/existing employees. This position supports specific duties within the Department of Safety, all of which are highly sensitive. This position performs background checks on specific groups of volunteers throughout the district as requested. |
Essential Functions and Objectives:
- Fingerprinting all new hire Denver Public Schools employees as directed by Human Resources.(Electronic, paper and ink knowledge necessary)
- Fingerprints are also performed for other areas of DPS: Charter Schools, volunteer programs, mentoring, intern (establish and maintain working relationships)
- Background checks through CBI Online are performed for various groups through DPS at their request.
- Assist with onboarding and out-processing of personnel to include badge creation for new personnel and deactivation and/or destruction for departing personnel, as well as updating access for personnel and contractors.
- Provide administrative/customer support duties for access control/badging.
- Coordinate with Access Control Administrator on issuance and proper access level of badges
- MUST maintain a HIGH level of confidentiality due to personal data and information received and maintained
- Operate and utilize computers and related software (e.g., spreadsheet, word processing, database management) and various District applications ID Flow, Lawson, DNA, Livescan fingerprinting
- Perform other duties, including special projects, as requested.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
- Demonstrated intermediate to proficient-level knowledge and experience with computer-based spreadsheet, database, and word processing software along with Safety specific systems, including Livescan and ID Flow.
- The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance

Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years college education or degree or equivalent experience preferred
