Job Title: Safe Space Sessional Worker

We are looking to recruit additional workers for our Safe Space team, providing support for people who have become vulnerable, injured or distressed, often as a result of intoxication due to alcohol and / or drugs. You will be part of a team of YMCA and medical staff working from St Paul’s Church on West Street, with occasional detached outreach opportunities.
You must be able to commit to working two shifts each month. Shifts run on Friday and Saturday nights from 11.15pm – 4.15am, but may on occasion finish later. Shift times may differ during covid recovery.
We are seeking applicants with experience in working with people in crisis, particularly those who are vulnerable and distressed. You will need to be able take a direct but supportive approach to clients who may be under the influence of substances, physically ill or wounded and may present with challenging behaviour.
