POSITION SUMMARY: Delivers, develops, coordinates, and maintains learning and development programs for all Retail Banking employees. Provides an effective learning experience by role. Conducts retail banking learning content, identifying bank-wide trends and developments impacting retail, and partnering with subject matter experts to deliver training. Implements training solutions on Retail Banking policies, procedures, and new technology implementations.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivers and maintains role-specific training curriculum for all Retail Banking employees, ensuring all policies, procedures and product changes are incorporated.
  • Maintains responsibility for updating retail policies and procedures. Prepares and coordinates necessary courses and materials for effective training including presentations, quick reference guides, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and job aides.
  • Delivers retail-specific content during onboarding, including retail sales and service culture, introductions to transaction and customer service/account opening training.
  • Creates and identifies consistent delivery of role-based training for all Retail Banking employees. Identifies and schedules internal and external subject matter experts to deliver material in accordance with the appropriate career journey.
  • Collaborates with branch management on the progress and development opportunities of retail staff as well as the overall effectiveness of training programs.
  • Maintains monthly, quarterly, and annual Retail Banking training calendars. Assigns and schedules training, tracks attendance and provides reporting related to completion status of required trainings.
  • Engages and manages relationships with external training partners delivering customized learning solutions to support specific development opportunities.
  • Manages Retail Training site at Webster Five’s HQ; ensures facility is up to date with required equipment and supplies; manages day-to-day operations of site.
  • Maintains knowledge of retail banking practices and the Bank’s regulatory and compliance requirements. Stays current with learning and development techniques and strategies.

REQUIRED SKILLS:  Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in facilitating training through various channels. Comprehensive knowledge of the retail banking industry, with a focus on sales, service and regulatory compliance. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience in performing multiple tasks and managing workflow in a deadline driven environment.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is often performed in an office and retail environment. Ability to exchange information, move inside and outside the workplace for business purposes, stay in a stationary position, and operate a computer. Required to travel locally and work a flexible schedule.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associate degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience.

Professional designation or certification from CTC, IBCT, ISPI, or ATD preferred.

 

MINIMUM PRIOR EXPERIENCE: 4 years of corporate training or related retail banking experience.
