Located in beautiful Tofino, British Columbia, the Wildside Grill celebrates the bounty of Vancouver Island’s West Coast. We offer seasonal cooking, with local ingredients, which creates an exciting and fun West Coast menu that speaks for itself. Our menu includes handhelds such as burgers and ciabattas, fresh and local fish and chips, tacos, poutines, soups and salads. Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.

Salary: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour
Expected start date: As soon as available
Benefits: extended medical and dental coverage to start after probation period completed.
Schedule: Candidate must have flexibility in availability, as morning, evenings, weekends and holidays are all required.

Job Duties:
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the restaurant.
- Determine type of services to be offered, and implement operational procedures.
- Recruit staff and oversee staff training.
- Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance.
- Control inventory, monitor revenues, and modify procedures and prices.
- Resolve customer complaints, and ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
- Food preparation.
- Prepare and cook individual dishes and meals.
- Maintain food supply inventory and order supplies.
- Assist in menu planning.
- Ensure kitchen is running smoothly.
Qualifications/Skill Requirements:
- Seeking someone who is polished and professional in presentation, communication, coaching and attitude; able to deliver excellent customer service to our guests.
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant or related profession (preferred).
- Must have a passion for delivering outstanding guest service.
- Completion of a food service administration, hotel, or restaurant management course(s) is an asset.
- 1 year of cooking or food handling experience (preferred).
- Level 1 FoodSafe and Serving it Right Certificate (preferred)
- Knowledge of the products, services, sector, industry and local area (preferred).
