Job Description
Martinis Above Fourth is looking for an energetic and experienced General Manager with a background in fast paced restaurants, bars and the entertainment scene! This business is “LGBTQ-friendly” and a “Transgender Safe Space”.
Located in the heart of Hillcrest, Martinis Above Fourth is an eclectic contemporary restaurant, lounge and bar featuring award-winning martinis and casual fine dining. Voted #1 Martini Bar in San Diego from Sign On San Diego, MA4 features over 100 specialty martinis, along with a wide selection of spirits, wine and beer. MA4’s menu offers a broad selection of starters and entrees. Nightly entertainment is showcased on the main stage with performers spanning the entire musical spectrum from jazz to pop and everything in-between. Special cabaret performances are presented throughout each month with featured entertainers from L.A. and New York.
Reports To: Operations Manager
Manager expectations:
- Oversees and manages all areas of the restaurant including, dining, bar, and entertainment schedule.
- Responsible for the oversight of your team and a multi-million dollar operation.
- Adheres to company standards and exceptional service levels.
- Maintain exemplary cleanliness of the restaurant.
- Maintaining the restaurant’s revenue, profitability and quality goals.
- FOH experience to oversee the dining room, check-in with customers and balance seating capacity.
- BOH experience is essential as you will oversee food prep, inventory and make sure we comply with health and safety restaurant regulations.
- Motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service.

We’d love to hear from people with:
- Four years management experience within a fast paced restaurant environment (experience: management)
- 2 years of Bar management preferable
- Experience working in restaurants with shows, stage, or relatable entertainment
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills (skills: organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving).
- Entrepreneurial mentality with experience in a sales focused environment (experience: sales)
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach and mentor team partners with professional maturity (skills: leadership)
- Minimum High School or GED
