About the Role
Join us as a Responsible Business Manager to provide leadership for Gas Transmission on defining and implementing our responsible business ambitions and commitments. This role will develop and implement a Responsible Business framework consisting of a strategy, delivery programme and action plan to improve the culture around responsible business outcomes.
Working with Corporate Affairs, you will lead the development and delivery of Responsible Business Charter strategies whilst developing the frameworks to report against responsible business actions and other metrics as required. You will lead, liaise with, and support internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, priorities and accountabilities and define, build and develop responsible business initiatives and disseminate actions within Gas Transmission, holding the business to account.
Acting as the lead for external interactions with other companies, Europe and the Government on responsible business and sustainability issues, you will utilise insights to further develop the strategy and business plan. You will also be the point of contact with Safety, Health & Sustainability (SHS), central teams and other business entities for the development and delivery of Gas Transmission specific indicators, dashboards and action plans for responsible business.
About You
We’re looking for someone who…
- Has the ability to influence and manage internal and external senior stakeholders i.e. Directors, Ofgem, trade bodies and external stakeholders etc.
- Is stakeholder orientated and a strong communicator, providing the ability to build and effectively manage and develop working relationships with senior leaders and staff at all levels.
- Has a proven track record of sound decision making and developing working relationships quickly and effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- Can work as part of a team and deliver mutual outcomes to benefit the organisation.
Technical/Specialist Skills Required:
- Have an understanding of the Gas Transmission business, our direction of travel and what is essential to us.
- Understand the regulatory and legislative environment and how it interacts with environmental and sustainability obligations.
- Knowledge of the technical environment and sustainability challenges associated with operating and maintaining the UK Gas Transmission Network and how these relate to business, regulator and stakeholder obligations.
- An ability to develop strategic responsible business options and understand their implications.
- Ability to support and implement sustainable change programmes, engage others in the use of frameworks, tools and deliver project plans which effectively drive change through the business.
- Have an understanding of ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance).
In this role, you will travel to different offices/sites as and when required, therefore it is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence.
What You’ll Get
- A competitive salary between £48,000 – £58,000 dependent on capability.
