Position Title: Residential Program Director
Classification: Full-time; Exempt; 12-Month
Department: Residential Programs

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a qualified health professional as defined by OASAS with at least five (5) years’ relevant work experience in Substance Use Disorder, or related treatment field. Supervision of other QHP’s must be permitted under OASAS scope of practice. Residential supervisory and leadership/management experience providing substance use or mental health disorder services in a residential/hospital behavioral health treatment setting desired. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and comfort using an electronic medical record system. On-call assistance required. The successful candidate will have experience supervising a multidisciplinary team of professionals, be skilled in conflict resolution and crisis intervention, and understand how to navigate the various needs and expectations of diverse community agencies. Reliable transportation required, valid NYS driver’s license preferred.

The Residential Program Director leads an interdisciplinary team, including LPN’s, RN’s, LCSW’s, LMSW’s, CASAC’s, Counseling Assistants, and other QHPs. This position is responsible for the provision of clinical and administrative oversight of Residential Programs, including Medically Supervised Withdrawal and Stabilization (816.7) and Residential Stabilization (820.10), as well as for the direction and control of residential direct care staff, services, and programming. The Residential Program Director ensures the consistent provision of evidence-based quality care for all residents. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable regarding substance use addiction and understand how substance use and addiction have the capacity to impact physical health and functionality.

JOB DUTIES

  • Supervise residential program supervisors;
  • Oversee the overall operation of assigned services and sites, including, but not limited to matters of personnel, provision of services, and inter/intra-agency operations;
  • Utilize data analytics to develop methods of improving quality of care and/or success of treatment interventions;
  • Provide support for residential incident/accident investigation processes, quality assurance, and Plans of Corrective Action;
  • Regularly document Supervisory Support and Performance Evaluations;
  • Lead and attend inter-disciplinary meetings;
  • Monitor/review/follow up on residential on-call notes, as needed;
  • Collaborate with appropriate agency staff to ensure appropriate direction/training, evaluation, assignment, and discipline of staff;
  • Collaborate with appropriate agency staff to ensure that protocols, policies, and procedures are evidence-based and medically sound;
  • Actively participate in budget development decisions including project and control expenditures;
  • Assist in the development of relevant initial and continuing in-service education, normalization concepts, goal planning, task analysis, and other training specific for provided services;
  • Ensure sufficient staffing for the provision of services in accordance with the master staffing plan;
  • Ensure that service environments are maintained/supplied appropriately and are adequate for the health and safety of clients, staff, and other visitors;
  • Collaborate with appropriate agency staff to ensure a coordinated continuum of treatment intervention across all agency programs;
  • Support the ongoing development of evidence-based medical and therapeutic interventions that support patients’ ability to achieve their individualized treatment goals/objectives;
  • As needed, act in the capacity of professional practitioner in delivery of program services including crisis de-escalation, individual/group interventions, and/or development of structured treatment plans;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with institutions that are involved in the care of residential clients including regional chemical dependency treatment providers, mental health treatment facilities, law enforcement, medical facilities, OASAS providers, and other agencies or service providers, addressing concerns they raise and advocating for agency stakeholders;
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings including weekly clinical meetings and Leadership Team meetings, to ensure consistent, accurate flow of information, agency policies and procedures throughout the residence, and provide administrative perspective and recommendations as appropriate;
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure that therapeutic counseling interventions address individualized needs of patients and reinforce expectations of nursing protocols that support medical assessments and treatment plans;
  • Develop and manage contracts;
  • Ensure program compliance with all applicable OASAS, federal, state, and local laws and regulations;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation: Competitive; $80k-86k annual salary; Commensurate with experience
