Full-Time Residential Group Home Care Worker

Job Description

Full-time position within adult group home in residential areas located in northwest, north, campus area and east Columbus. Predictable, air conditioned environment with PPE provided. $15.00 Hourly with overtime available. Hours worked on any holiday are automatically paid at the overtime rate.  All residents are ambulatory; no lifting, hygiene assistance or bathing is required.

Shifts run 24/7/365:

  1. 1st Shift is scheduled 8 am to 4 pm
  2. 2nd Shift is scheduled 4 pm to 12 midnight
  3. 3rd Shift is scheduled 12 midnight to 8 am

No personal care, bathing, lifting or physical support of residents is required.

 KEY FUNCTIONS:

  • Basic cleaning and housekeeping.
  • May assist residents with preparation of meals or snacks to provide nutrition assistance.
  • Assist residents with ordinary, day-to-day living skills such as doing their dishes, laundering their clothing or cooking a meal in order to promote independent living skills.
  • Evening shift will provide ready-to-eat meals for residents based upon the nutritionist-approved menu.
  • Administer prescribed or over-the-counter medication to residents on schedule; professional training provided by a Registered Nurse on site.
  • Interact with residents to observe and notice changes for overall health and well being of each residential patient.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license
  • Automobile for transportation purposes
  • Good driving record (no more than 4 points)
  • Must meet agency’s credentialing requirements
  • Pre-employment criminal background checkis mandatory
  • References will be checked
  • Pre-employment drug testing will occur
