Position Purpose

The Resident Director (RD) is a live-in professional who facilitates, creates, maintains, and promotes a just, purposeful, and secure residential community supporting the learning mission of The Evergreen State College (Evergreen) and enhancing residents’ academic and personal development. RDs supervise Resident Assistants (RAs), coordinate their job responsibilities with other Residential Life staff, and oversee programming and student conduct. This position responds independently to emergency situations, serves on the on-call rotation for the residential community, and works collaboratively with other Residential and Dining (RAD) and Student Engagement staff.

 

This is a full time, overtime exempt position on the Olympia Campus of The Evergreen State College. This position is exempt from state Civil Service rules and the Fair Labor Standards Act overtime requirements.

 

Salary and Benefits: $4,164 – $4,308 per month of full-time work + excellent benefits including paid sick and vacation leave; paid campus holidays; a generous medical, dental, life, and disability insurance package; and a tuition waiver program.

 

This is a 12 month, live-in position and includes a furnished one-bedroom apartment, meal plan, full kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher, internet access, and cable TV. Our RD apartments are non-smoking, with an RD pet policy allowing up to two domestic pets.
