WHAT YOU’LL DO

Research Managers at DHM lead multiple research projects at a time and independently conduct all phases of research. They analyze and synthesize data to provide strategic recommendations related to communication, political campaigns, and public policy. They maintain and build client relationships to understand clients’ research needs and promote the firm’s services. As Research Manager you will:

  • Work as part of a passionate and supportive team
  • Lead and make a major contribution to multiple projects
  • Develop research approaches and instruments for quantitative and qualitative research projects
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative research data and write high quality research reports within agreed-upon timelines
  • Coordinate all logistics necessary to field quantitative or qualitative research projects as needed
  • Estimate budgets, track invoices, and monitor costs of research projects
  • Provide support for focus groups as needed (may occur during evening or weekend hours)

ABOUT YOU

You are curious and appreciate growing through challenging work. You are passionate about your community and eager to direct research that leads to decisions and policies that better meet the needs of the people who are impacted by them. In addition to research, writing, and analytic skills, you have an interest in politics, policy, organizational decision making, psychology, and/or communications. You must reside in the Pacific Northwest and be able to meet in-person with clients or coworkers in either the Seattle or Portland area.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2–3 years conducting and managing quantitative and qualitative research projects
  • 1–2 year’s experience in public policy analysis and/or program evaluation
  • Currently living in the Seattle area and/or familiar with the Seattle market
  • Strong project management skills, the ability to manage projects from end-to-end, and the ability to handle multiple projects while meeting client timelines
  • Able to conduct and interpret statistical analyses
  • Comfortable using MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong analytical writing
  • Collaborative and an effective communicator
  • Demonstrated conscientiousness and attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, economics, political science, or related field
