Role Description
Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader. As an RTE you will assist the teams in delivering value. You will manage risk, advance impediments, and help drive relentless improvement to ensure the success of the overall team. This position requires a leader accountable for enhancing the business value produced by the team, including efficiency and delivery.
Crucial Functions
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, including Director and above levels.
- Advance/track/remove impediments that block progress for the teams.
- Lead increment planning sessions to establish scope and build release plans.
- Manage and facilitate multi-functional team ceremonies to support the development and product releases.
- Assist with execution and Feature/Capability completion tracking.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, & Solution Architects to understand program features.
- Champion and foster Project and Change Management processes and procedures.
- Provide feedback on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
- Facilitate System and Solution Demos.
- Ensure that projects follow standard policies, procedures, and practices.
- Coach leaders, Scrum Masters, and teams in Lean-Agile practices.
- Provide Agile Leadership coaching and training to Scrum Masters, Product owners, functional managers, and executives.
- Deliver hands-on coaching of individual teams in all aspects of scrum and Kanban – daily meetings, planning, self-organization, collaboration, iterative development, managing flow, limiting WIP, etc.
- Identify ways to continuously optimize and improve the performance of teams and groups within your remit
Desired Skills and Experience
- 10+ years working in industrial sectors like manufacturing, transportation, construction & engineering.
- 10+ years of proven experience leading Information Technology projects.
- 5+ years leading large-scale transformation programs, involving business process and change, organization change, and multiple large-scale technology components.
- 5+ years delivering large-scale IT solutions improving Agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Experience in business and solution development, project/program management, and project delivery.
- Very strong understanding of the SDLC.
- Well-structured with an ability to communicate and collaborate on different levels, within and outside Ericsson
- Proven experience in change management.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
- Experience leading and/or supporting Hardware Automation projects
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university (MBA, Information Systems or Computer Science)
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or Program Management Professional (PMP) ® Certification.
- Supply Chain Management experience
