Full-Time Regional Utilities Coordinator – NEW HIGHER PAY!
Job Description
- Engage in the highest level of Utilities Coordination work requiring the independent application of your professional techniques and standards.
- Supervise a staff of Utility Coordinator Trainees, Utility Coordinators, and Senior Utility Coordinators.
- Provide support and training to our Division Utilities Coordinator.
- Oversee and manage utilities relocations related to State Transportation Improvement (STIP) projects in Western NC.
- Establish and implement policies/procedures across the state in collaboration with our State Utilities Manager.
- Direct, monitor, train, and provide technical assistance to a squad of Utility Agents.
- Schedule monthly meetings with our Unit Head to update and report project status and ensure project delivery relating to our 12-month letting list.
- Supervise and administer NCDOT policies in the of the daily activities to proficiently handle utility relocations/accommodations of projects assigned to staff.
- Use project scoping information and our online databases to establish the monitoring and distribution of work assignments, applicable schedules, utility contacts, utility conflict impacts, and utility revisions.
- Experience investigating, analyzing, and identifying utilities conflicts on proposed projects.
- Engineering experience identifying environmental impacts in order to secure necessary environmental utility permits.
- Project management experience coordinating and expediting utility relocations to keep projects on schedule.
- Engineering experience providing technical advice, direction, and operational support.
- Experience interpreting and applying State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies to the accommodation of utilities in the rights of way and the relocation of utilities on road projects.
- Thorough knowledge of surveying and materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction.
- Thorough knowledge of math functions, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Drafting skills.
- Skill in the use of survey instruments.
- Computer skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain construction plans, contract provisions, specifications and inspection procedures, and related documents/communications.
- Ability to take notes and prepare or review reports.
- Candidates with 5+ years of experience with Utility Coordination and Relocations.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field, and
- 7+ years technician experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
