Full-Time Recovery Connector Practitioner – Chesterfield and N.Derbyshire

PhoenixFutures – Posted by PhoenixFutures Chesterfield, England, United Kingdom

Job Description

Following securing additional funding, the Derbyshire Recovery Partnership are looking to recruit a Recovery Connector Practitioner for the Chesterfield and North region of our Derbyshire service.

This new and exciting team will be working with people living in Derbyshire that are in recovery from drug and/or alcohol use. This role will focus on linking people accessing/exiting treatment in with their local recovery communities, teams, projects and mutual aid groups.

In this role you will work alongside a team of Recovery Connector Practitioners and will be led by a designated Recovery Connector Team Manager. Within your team you will also have a new Lived Experience Pathway Coordinator whose role is to support people with lived experience to access a range of skills, experience and qualifications relating to drug and alcohol addiction, supporting people to then gain employment within the field of substance misuse.

In this Recovery Connector role you will deliver recovery-focused interventions as you work to connect clients leaving treatment with their local community recovery support services, or other structured meaningful activities which may also include supporting them to attend local mutual aid meetings. This role will involve facilitating some small recovery-focused group work sessions to clients, both in person and online. This role will involve advocating for clients, travelling with them to appointments and meetings to help build their confidence and overcome barriers to accessing aftercare and recovery support. You will put the client at the centre of your work, helping them to achieve their personal recovery goals. Building good working relationships with other services and projects will be fundamental to this role, so we’re looking for someone with good communication skills. As this role will also involve documenting work done with clients and completing some data-related work, you will need good written/IT skills.

The ultimate focus of this new role is helping people to engage and reconnect clients in recovery from drugs and/or alcohol into structured support, groups and activities within their local community, helping them to improve health, unlock potential and achieve personalised recovery goals.

You would be working 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm typically, but there are opportunities to work flexibly (eg if you were supporting someone to attend a 6pm AA/NA meeting, you may agree with your line manager to not start work until a little later that day). This contract will be for a fixed term period until 31/03/25 as it’s a grant funded project and at this stage we cannot guarantee further funding past this date. Starting salary for this role is £24,250pa, pro rata with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays off.  In this role we’ll give you lots of training and all the support you need to thrive and succeed in your role and find your place amongst our incredible and collaborative team.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate in application and interview a clear passion for working with people in recovery and will have an innovative, motivating and proactive approach to their work. If this role really interests you, have a read of the job description and you can apply via our Phoenix Futures website, making sure you detail what you would bring to this role in your personal statement.

We really welcome people with lived experience to apply for this position.

Applicants for this role will require a driving licence with their own access to a vehicle for work.
