Full-Time R&D Business Partner, IT BI & Analytics

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The R&D Business Partner, Business Intelligence & Analytics is accountable for all aspects of data, reporting and analytics, tools and governance within the Science & Technology (R&D) business unit of Mallinckrodt.  The role is a critical part of the IT-Business Intelligence & Analytics COE team that supports all the Business Intelligence and analytics functions of the enterprise, performing end-to-end requirements and analysis, project management, and business relationship management.  The role is responsible for handling communication to business users and is an expert about each data source and analytics need, its limitations and how it can be applied to answer business questions.  This role may also advise on implementation, metrics and analytics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serve as the business relationship manager to the business unit or function assigned to ensure that data and reporting/analytics needs are being met to the expectations of the business.
Manage and govern data and metrics/reporting related to the business unit or function supported.
Interact with the business to gather requirements, prioritize, design & deliver solutions, and perform change management/training for BI & analytics application.
Drive interactive, guided and self-serve analytics approach with the specific business function.
Leverage creativity and experience to design an interactive and ‘insights to action’ reporting and analytics
Understand the data elements that drive clinical, Pharmacovigilance and regulatory functions.
Perform RWD analytics
Serve as a project manager to deliver on BI-related initiatives.
Partner with any external BI service providers in the support and delivery of projects and ensure adherence to all service level agreements.
Proactively educate business users on specifics of report usage, limitations, and contextual understanding of the data, supporting the onboarding and training of Super Users as identified.
Ensure and at times create or modify the data and metrics definition to ensure all data elements and metrics are understood and used consistently.
Advisor to data governance council as needed on reporting and data alignment needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Masters of Business Administration preferred.
Experience:
7 years of experience in Business Intelligence required, preferably within a life sciences industry. R&D experience is preferred but not a must.
5 years of project management experience.
5 years of vendor management experience in the IT industry.
Experience in business roles for the business functions being served, including an understanding of the foundational processes of each function being served.
Experience in implementing standard as well as emerging data analytical capabilities such as : Informatica, Redshift/AWS, Qliksense ( or similar), SAS/R/Python,  data exploration and discovery, Data science , Real World data analytics & platform enablement, Natural Language Processing
Experience in handling structured and semi-structured content, portals and news feeds for Competitive Intelligence platforms.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Strong vendor management skills to work with third party data providers and technology partners.
Strong business knowledge and mindset to provide guidance on how data can be applied to answer business questions.
Ability to communicate with business leaders at all levels of the organization.
Proven analytical, problem solving, persuasive and conflict resolution skills with a professional demeanor and good business acumen.
Ideal candidate is a highly motivated, results oriented individual with great relationship management, communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-starter and can operate independently as needed.

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS/SCOPE OF POSITION:
This position reports to the IT BI & Analytics COE Leader and has no direct reports. This position will work with business leaders at all levels of the organization.
