Job Summary:
The Quality Technician will be integral in ensuring that our products consistently meet Hydro’s stringent quality standards. This role emphasizes the verification of product quality, traceability, and adherence to established standards and process instructions, with a particular focus on dimensional and mechanical inspections.
Required Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of quality experience or a degree in a quality-related field with knowledge of ASTM testing procedures (e.g., B221, B557, etc.).
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and print reading.
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Background in quality with experience in testing and inspection procedures.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Exposure to the aluminum extrusion industry is a plus.
- Strong mathematical skills and problem-solving abilities; proficient in using calculators and reading metrology gauges.
- Strong computer skills, including intermediate proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to understand and adhere to lab and company quality documentation.
- Experience with optical metrology systems such as Keyence or OGP products, including programming, running measurement routines, and capturing complete dimensions of samples without existing production prints.
- Proficiency in operating test and inspection equipment and conducting various destructive and non-destructive tests, including tensile (mechanical properties), flare, hardness, and conductivity tests.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct dimensional inspections of products using hand gauges and digital optical measurement systems.
- Perform mechanical testing, including receiving incoming samples, preparing test specimens, and executing tests.
- Prepare samples using saws, CNC lathe, and CNC mill.
- Adhere to testing procedures, policies, and standards.
- Maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
- Uphold the highest levels of ethical and compliant behavior.
