Job Description

We are looking for a Quality Technician to join our team in Byhalia, MS.

The position requires shift flexibility, the selected candidate must be able to work either AM or PM shift. The days are rotating 2-2-3

Your future team:

You will become part of the Quality Operations team supporting the ROCKWOOL production line. Quality Technicians provide visual, quality, and packaging inspections.

What you bring:

High school diploma or equivalent
Good understanding of H+S requirements and works in a safe manner.
Self-motivated with the drive, commitment, and high energy to motivate others.
The ability to read and understand written instructions and product specifications.
Able to use measurement tools such as callipers, micrometres, and measuring tapes, etc.
Quality Control/Assurance background
Must be familiar with data entry data bases such as Access.
Familiar with various computer programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience with visual quality inspections
Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and ability to work in a safe manner.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

What you will be doing:

Visually inspect material to ensure it meets quality specifications.
Report on tile deficiencies and irregularities
Separate waste
Ensure proper functioning of equipment and safe removal of failures.
Plan efficient product changes.
Communicate unusual conditions, equipment issues and reasons for production increase/decrease to cross shift operator.
Complete shutdown tasks and procedures

Work Environment & Conditions:

Fast-paced high volume production facility
Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors for 12 hours per day
Ability to lift 60 lbs alone and 120lbs with another person
Ability to shovel heavy waste to shoulder height
Ability to wear protective safety equipment for several hours daily
