Current is looking for a Quality Assurance Lead to help drive the overall direction of our QA team. You will play a key role in evolving our testing strategy by helping define processes and tooling to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. As a member of the QA team you will be working closely with our mobile team to define, document, analyze, execute, and interpret functional tests for new software features. This role extends beyond manual testing where you will have the opportunity to develop UI automation testing alongside engineers, coordinate test execution with external testers, and work with our platform team to build internal tooling to expand our test coverage. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create processes and tooling to enable more effective collaboration between the QA, product, and engineering teams
- Manage automation roadmap for the mobile clients
- Coordinate testing strategy between internal and external testers
- Write test plans, scenarios, and/or procedures to ensure product quality
- Perform test execution, take care of initial debugging procedures, and capture results
- Write clear and effective bug reports and work closely with the engineering team to resolve product issues
- Assess launch readiness of product releases based on test results
- Be an advocate and standard bearer for best in class software
ABOUT YOU:
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or relevant space
- Deep knowledge of test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging
- Familiarity with test management tools, such as Jira and TestRail
- Experience testing native mobile applications
- Experience introducing processes and/or building tooling across a team of QA
- Thrives in a highly ambiguous environment, being proactive in finding ways to improve the efficiency of the team
- Excellent cross-functional communication with engineers, managers, and designers
BONUS:
- Experience leading the test strategy across a team of QA engineers
- Experience with a modern programming language, such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, etc
- Experience with writing UI automation tests
- Experience with executing mobile testing on the cloud, such as AWS Device Farm, Firebase Test Lab, etc
- Experience working in a start-up or fast moving work environment
