Boost Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (Boost CYAC) is situated on the traditional territories of the Wendat, Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, who have been the traditional caretakers of this land for thousands of years. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Treaty between the Anishinaabe, Mississaugas and Haudenosaunee that bound them to share the territory and protect the land. Subsequent Indigenous Nations and Peoples, Europeans and all newcomers have been invited into this treaty in the spirit of peace, friendship and respect. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work, and live in the community with each other.

Organizational Overview

Boost CYAC is a registered charity that provides a range of services to children, youth and families, who have experienced abuse or violence, within the City of Toronto. We provide individual, group, family and community services that include trauma assessment, counselling, and therapy, advocacy and support services during child abuse investigations, court support and accompaniment services, and abuse and violence prevention materials and trainings. Boost CYAC is accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation, an independent non-profit organization that offers accreditation specifically tailored to community-based health and social services across Canada.

Role Overview

Working in collaboration with the Director of Operations, the Quality and Data Coordinator will be responsible for the day to day planning, support and coordination of quality improvement projects, internal evaluations, data management and accreditation.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Health Administration, Quality Improvement, Health Information, Health Care Management, Business Administration or other related discipline.
  • Training and knowledge in quality improvements processes, frameworks and methodologies. (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Model for Improvement), change management, risk management, project management and statistical analysis.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience leading quality improvement initiatives, preferably in a social services or community mental health care setting. Experience in leading projects, establishing project plans, assigning tasks and evaluating deliverables within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles, data management, and experience with collection, tracking, submission and reporting of data.
  • Experience working with personal health information (PHI), and a strong understanding of the the importance of the protection, privacy and security of all records. Experience with EMHware is considered an asset.
  • Experience creating and implementing program evaluation tools.
  • Strong understanding of the concepts of equity, accessibility, intersectionality, anti-racism, anti-black racism, anti-indigenous racism, decolonization, inclusion, anti-oppression and their application in an organizational context. Ongoing professional development that demonstrates ongoing learning in equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging practices is considered an asset.
  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, collaborating with diverse teams and ensuring diverse perspectives are incorporated in quality and data initiatives.
  • Knowledge of accreditation practices and procedures. Previous experience leading teams in preparation for accreditation cycles is considered an asset.
  • Highly motivated, well organized, detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment with all levels of staff within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, work proactively, manage competing priorities in a complex environment and analyze information to prioritize and communicate emerging issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of the suite of Microsoft Office applications and database management systems related to quality.
  • Satisfactory clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Screening process.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of of Quality Management and Data Management Frameworks within Boost CYAC.
  • Assist in the development of annual quality improvement and data management plans across all programs and services within the organization.
  • Assist in the identification, coordination, implementation and evaluation of yearly quality improvement initiatives.
  • Chair the Quality Management committee and provide recommendations to the leadership team with respect quality and data related improvements.
  • Assist the Director of Operations with multi-year accreditation related deliverables.
  • Support the Director of Operations in the development of quality improvement reports to the Board of Directors
  • Work with Program staff to create, implement, score and program evaluations.
  • Provides ongoing education sessions to staff with respect to quality assurance and quality improvement principles, practice and methodologies.
  • Provide consultation and support to program leaders with respect to data collection and reporting. Act as a liaison to support staff at EMHware.
