Summary of Duties
This position has oversight of parking operations on the WSU Vancouver campus. Responsibilities include administration of the parking management system, ensuring proper working conditions of equipment and parking lots, facilitating permit sales, enforcement of parking and traffic regulations, issuing citations and fines, policy review and development, and working with customers on special parking arrangements. The position will provide routine and ad-hoc reports and conduct analysis such as parking utilization, lot maintenance needs, cost-benefit of installing EV charging stations, and revenue forecasting. The position is also a strategic partner to the Director, providing administrative support for the entire Public Safety and Parking Services Department. Duties include representing the department at campus and system-wide meetings, acting as the HR Partner (supporting personnel actions such as recruitment, onboarding, and reclassifications), budget development, monitoring and forecasting, contract management, purchasing, processing travel, as well as keeping websites up to date. The position may also supervise student employees.
Required Qualifications
• High school graduation or equivalent AND three years of applicable experience in the program specialty; OR equivalent education/experience.
• Employment contingent upon passing a criminal background check and Department of Licensing background check. Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license.
• Proficient in computer use, email platforms, Microsoft Excel and Word, web browsers, digital calendar applications and collaborative technology such as Teams, Zoom, and shared drives.
• Knowledge of typical office equipment such as copiers, scanning, printers and multi-line phone systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong customer service ethic. Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness. Proven ability to prioritize, perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly diverse environment.
• Professional experience in serving students and staff in higher education settings.
• Experience in developing, maintaining, and/or using computerized record systems and information management.
• Experience working in physical plant, parking, public safety, or other service office.
• Experience performing counter sales, cash handling, and associated records management skills.
• Experience with fiscal support such as enacting transactions, monitoring budgets, bookkeeping, processing travel, etc.
• Experience providing support for personnel functions.

Work Location and Schedule:
This position is in person and not eligible for remote/hybrid work. The typical shift will be M-F, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Monthly Salary:
$3,811 to 5,117 A-M, Range R044-. Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
