Full-Time Proposal Manager

Job Description

Our team is looking for a highly-motivated, detail-oriented proposal manager with strong critical thinking and communication skills to join our growing team. The Proposal Manager will work across all of AnLar’s teams, managing the proposal development process from start to finish as well as supporting other internal business development efforts such as contributing to building, updating, and maintaining our internal proposal database, updating tools and templates for proposals, and fostering collaboration across service teams about opportunities of interest.

What the job entails:

 

Proposal management:

  • Ensure all of the company’s proposals are fully executed from start to finish. 
  • When AnLarians decide they’re interested in pursuing an opportunity, read through the document to understand client expectations, deadlines, and budget. Prepare proposal outline, schedule, and compliance matrix. 
  • Lead proposal kick-offs including brainstorming and strategizing with the proposal team and possible partners. Delegate tasks, gather resources and expertise of other AnLarians needed to complete the proposal. 
  • Communicate with potential funders, including responding to requests for additional information and submitting proposal questions. 
  • Author non-technical proposal content (i.e., management plans and past performance) and work with AnLar’s Communications and Design team to help come up with graphic design concepts. 
  • Coordinate with partners throughout the proposal development and submission process. 
  • Coordinate with lawyers for legal review of documents (i.e., teaming agreements, NDAs, etc.)
  • Coordinate content reviews and copyediting/proofreading of proposals and help ensure there is common voice and tone throughout that is authentic to AnLar. 
  • Perform final proposal review and conduct RFP compliance reviews.
  • Submit proposals (electronically, via mail, or in-person). 

 

Internal Business Development Support:

  • Foster communication between service teams about potential opportunities of shared interest. 
  • Participate in strategic planning. 
  • Monitor and search for opportunities. 
  • Create, update, and maintain tools, templates, and other content for proposals. 
  • Contribute to building, updating, and maintaining our internal proposal database. 
  • Help create, refine, and improve proposal processes. 
  • Assist in the contract start-up process when needed.

 

Who the right candidate is:

  • Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized. Ability to keep positive and organized while balancing multiple proposals with competing deadlines.
  • A team player who is collaborative, humble, and always willing to go the extra mile and jump in to get things moving.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build genuine relationships and work across all of AnLar’s teams. Ability to serve as an ambassador for AnLar when connecting with our partners. Has a “customer service” mindset.
  • Comfortable being consistent and firm in following up with the proposal team frequently to ensure the team sticks to the established deadlines. 
  • Excellent writing skills for writing proposal sections and communicating with potential partners or funders.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and willing to just jump in. Comfortable with change and working in a growing company where the rules are still being written. 
  • Thrives while under pressure.
  • Brings new ideas on how to improve our processes. Is a proactive problem-solver and consistently takes initiative.
  • Brings a positive, can-do attitude to everything they do! Comfortable working at a company where the “rules” are still being written. 
  • Has a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3-5 years of indirect or direct experience managing proposals. 
  • Experience in any of the following areas (preferred, not required): government contracting firms, paralegal or legal industry, project management.
