Job Description

We need a committed and passionate person to become part of the team to work in a holistic manner and a psychologically informed approach to support young people.

We are looking for someone to work with the Projects Manager, Senior Project Worker and the wider housing team to provide effective day to day management of our community accommodation projects. This includes delivering one to one sessions and group work sessions to assist residents to develop personally and socially in order that they grow in confidence and move towards independence.

In supported housing we work in a person-centred way, using a strengths-based, Trauma Informed (TI) approach. From day one of the service, and throughout, we emphasise moving on to independence as the ultimate goal, but we also recognise that the pathway to independence is not linear, and that to be effective our service needs to be flexible and responsive.

Role responsibilities

  • Share responsibility for the effective day to day operation of all the projects within the local area, in accordance with the agreed policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all residents receive an appropriate level of care, support and training according to their needs in a asset-based and outcomes-focused way.
  • Carry a case load of young people and to engage them in effective support planning, working towards tailored goals so they can work towards positive outcomes.

Key Requirements

  • A good basic education including GCSEs or equivalent
  • A relevant youth, housing or support work qualification is desirable but not essential
  • An understanding of the needs of young homeless clients aged between 18-35 years.
  • Experience of working in supported housing or in a residential setting
  • Good administrative, numeric, organisational skills and computer literacy skills

Expected working pattern: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

The position comes with excellent benefits, including 27 days annual leave per annum (plus bank holidays), a company sick pay scheme, a life assurance policy of 2x your annual salary, a health and wellbeing cash plan, and a cycle to work scheme.
