Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the eLearning department and the college’s delivery of online instruction. Responsibilities include providing faculty and students with technical support, executing basic and intermediate LMS functions, analyzing and compiling data, and supporting the eLearning ticketing system. This position performs critical tasks with minimal supervision, so the employee must be able to work independently, and possess excellent problem-solving and customer service skills. This position is temporary and will work M-F 7:30am-4pm. 4 days will be on-campus and 1 day remote/teleworking.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist faculty and students with any login difficulties, including explaining login procedures and how to reset passwords
• Assist faculty and students with issues with synchronous online class technology (ex. Microsoft Teams and Zoom) including advanced functions of breakout rooms, polls, whiteboards, etc. Collaborate with IT as needed to troubleshoot issues
• Add and remove students and instructors manually for classes that are not covered by the automated process or when inaccurate enrollments need to be corrected
• Perform quarterly merge requests, ensuring FERPA regulations are always followed
• Assist teachers with basic procedures such as importing content, creating content, and publishing courses
• Offer and lead trainings on learning technologies, create and update user documentation, and regularly publish the eLearning newsletter
• Assist teachers with more advanced procedures such as using quiz item banks, rubrics, synchronous video functions
• Test and document Canvas and other technology features, changes, and added functionality
• Maintain privacy of students and instructors when troubleshooting issues, as the employee has complete access to all accounts during this process, including the ability to masquerade as individuals
• Assist with the monitoring of the eLearning ticketing system, coordinating with other LMS administrators on tickets, and following the escalation process
• Work with IT to update student name changes, student ID changes, etc. within Canvas and other technologies
• Monitor the eLearning website to ensure accuracy, as well as create website content
• Assist instructors with accessibility issues within Canvas and other technologies

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate’s degree
• Three years’ experience working in an office setting, preferably in an educational environment
• Must communicate in English both verbally and in writing
• Knowledge of online procedures, terminology, and products
• Knowledge of MS office
• Knowledge of the Canvas Learning Management System and other eLearning technologies
Allowable Substitution
If necessary, alternative combinations of education and experience may be evaluated by the Human Resources Office for comparability.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Proficient with Canvas or equivalent learning management system
• Experience training or teaching adult learners
• Ability to troubleshoot basic computer, printer, and copier problems
Competencies
• Ability to self-train on technology and procedures to troubleshoot, assist instructors and successfully complete tasks and projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, including filtering, sorting, formulas, and csv files in Excel and working with Zoom and Microsoft Teams
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to defuse potentially disruptive patrons in a safe and courteous manner
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance on the job
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in keeping with both federal and state laws and college policies
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with persons from diverse educational, economic and cultural backgrounds, as well as persons with disabilities and disadvantages

Compensation & Work Schedule
Hourly rate of pay is $32.66 This is a temporary position and scheduled 40 hours a week. Work hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. 4 days will be on-campus and 1 day remote/teleworking.
