Primary Purpose:
The Energy Solution Turnkey and Federal Accounts department offers Project and construction management services to SDG&E customer on the implementation of energy conservation, resiliency and electrification projects at their facility. The Project Manager manages and directs major energy projects on customers behalf within the department. Responsible for the development of work scope, budget, schedule, and resource requirements. Prepares, negotiates, and approves contracts for contractors or consultants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages and coordinates all activities leading to the successful completion of projects including project scoping, timelines, cost estimates and design. Develops and maintains project parameters for project requirements. Provides direction to contractors, consultants, and project team.
- Primary SDG&E point of contact for customer that is implementing the project and the project construction team.
- Analyzes and determines regulatory impacts and requirements of the project and coordinate all program incentives and rebates on customer’s behalf.
- Manages related workforce planning, budget analysis, and prepare budget forecasts.
- Researches and evaluates available contractors and consultants. Prepares, negotiates, and approves or recommends approval of contracts. Negotiates contracts changes.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering, Business, related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
- 5 years Related experience or equivalent experience/training.
- Understanding of construction practices and building related technologies (HVAC, DDC, Photo Voltaic, energy generation and associated technologies.
- Project management knowledge required.
- Must be able to assess the potential financial impact of a project to the Company.
- Must possess the ability to review complex problems and propose innovative solutions.
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
- We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office two to three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays. Requires on-site field work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management certification.
