The Position
In 2022, we are GOING BIG to protect the voting rights and reproductive rights of millions of Americans. We will launch massive campaigns across the country to register voters, collect signatures, organize volunteers, and expand and change the electorate, all while driving quality, equity, and justice in the political space. We are currently seeking Project Directors to work as key partners in developing and executing campaign strategy. As a Project Director, you would regularly interface with clients who work on voter registration, voter contact, and/or signature gathering campaigns.
We are looking for experienced Project Directors who will hire and manage a diverse team of full-time staff, who will in turn supervise teams of other full-time and part-time staff. As a Project Director, you will drive goals on your team to ensure client deliverables are exceeded and met with accuracy and efficiency.

We are looking to hire Project Directors to manage campaigns beginning anytime between April 2022 through November 2022.
What We Are Looking For
Responsibilities:
Client Management
- Work directly with clients
- Write and edit daily and weekly project reports to clients
- Prepare and run meetings including but not limited to: client onboarding calls, weekly check-in calls, debriefing calls
- Proactively identify problems in the program and propose solutions when appropriate
- Identify equity and justice priorities held by the client
- Identify and recruit new clients
Staff Management
- Hire and manage a diverse team of staff
- Drive team goals
- Build and maintain a team culture that centers equity and justice
- Treat staff with empathy and respect and ensure the managers you supervise do the same
- Maintain high performance standards and provide ongoing feedback and evaluation
- Hold staff accountable and have tough conversations when necessary; coach the managers you supervise to do the same with their staff
- Develop and facilitate trainings for your team
Tech Project Management
- Manage the development of improved systems for tracking work, which may include identifying and managing a vendor, testing new features, and providing feedback.
Administration
- Manage and track project budget and submit accurate expense reports and updates
- Ensure payroll is accurate for your team by managing the hours reporting process and reviewing payroll
- Ensure your team adheres to HR requirements and recommendations as related to onboarding, off-boarding, and disciplinary actions.
Qualifications:
Must have
- At least five years of staff management experience, especially in campaigns, canvass operations, or field organizing
- Experience being bottom-line on a large project with urgent deadlines
- Demonstrated experience centering equity and justice in your work
- Willingness to address issues; problem solver
- Flexible; ready to adapt to last-minute changes
Nice-to-have
- Bilingual in Spanish-English is a plus
- Experience managing paid employees
- Experience running paid canvasses
- Community or issue based campaign experience
Job Details
Location: The position can be located anywhere in the continental U.S. and may involve significant travel when it becomes safe to do so.
Salary: The salary range for this position is 70,000-92,000 annually, depending on level of experience. Performance bonuses may be awarded at the midpoint and end of the campaign. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, a monthly phone stipend, and hands-on, paid training. At the end of the campaign, there may be opportunities for advancement.
