Job Description
- Assist in organizing and managing program delivery.
- Assist our Project Management teams with tracking and reporting project fiscal and schedule information.
- Contribute to our efforts across NCDOT to improve our project management processes and procedures from planning to construction.
- Lead and assist in creating and updating manuals, training, and guidance documents to support NCDOT project managers.
- Lead or assist in responding to inquiries from the public and NCDOT management on our policies, projects, plans, and proposed work.
- Lead and participate in workgroups and make recommendations to our Unit Manager for process and project improvements.
- Communicate and work with internal NCDOT staff and external partners.
- Have the autonomy to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of professional engineering techniques, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of NCDOT org structures, budgetary planning, and skills to apply this knowledge.
- Experience developing, interpreting, and administering policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Experience establishing and managing priorities, developing work schedules, monitoring goal progress and schedules, and tracking data and activities.
- Problem solving experience.
- Teamwork skills to working cooperatively with others, influence others to achieve results, and enhance our organizational effectiveness and project delivery.
- Experience drafting and communicating written communications to a broad range of audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, and
- 4+ years of relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- We may require you to be registered as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
