We have a range of excellent opportunities available across either DE&S and/or SDA as Project Controls Managers.
These posts represent a real opportunity to be involved with the continual development of best practice within DE&S and SDA Project Controls environment.
This position will be the “”right hand “” to the project/programme manager and is responsible for delivering the Project Controls across a variety of high value and complex projects and portfolios.
As a Project Controls Management expert and holding a Senior Management position within Project Controls, this high-level opportunity could see you working on a diverse and exciting variety of tasks, including – major once-in-a-lifetime projects, helping to shape Project Controls teams, developing new ways of working, and managing and developing the people.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for undertaking and managing Project Controls within delivery projects or may be part of a Project/Portfolio team within a larger project or portfolio.
You will be responsible for setting and maintaining performance measurement baselines; directing and integrating all aspects of Earned Value Management (EVM); cost management; estimating; scheduling and risk management; providing analysis of progress and driving agreed recovery actions.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited too:
• Have experience of managing and delivering programme and Project Controls.
• Have responsibility for the management of a Project Controls team and employees.
• Be able to interpret complex data and communicate it to the delivery team.
• Offer strategic advice and communicate with stakeholders on complex issues regarding project performance
In person, you will possess good interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills with experience of working collaboratively with teams, across functions and with all levels of the delivery teams.
These roles would suit Project Controls professionals with proven track record either in supplier, consultant or client-side roles; ideally with a background in delivery projects through the stages of design, procurement and construction/production.
A background in the defence sector is not a prerequisite as we welcome applicants from a broad spectrum of industries and sectors.

What you will be assessed against
To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
• Must have experience of undertaking a Project Controls Management role together with experience and background in a project delivery environment of at least one of cost control, estimating, scheduling or risk management skills capabilities.
It would benefit your application should you be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• APM RPP, CCAB or a technical / business degree
