Full-Time Progressive Talent Pipeline Fellow
Job Description
The Progressive Talent Pipeline identifies, endorses, trains, and recommends a diverse slate of committed progressives for staff roles in Congress and government agencies.
In response to some exciting late June and July events and growing interest as folks learn about the program, we’re excited to announce that we’ve opened a 2nd deadline for the Progressive Talent Pipeline 2024 cohort! If you’re a progressive thinker, policy staffer, communicator, or organizer who wants to serve in a government role, please apply here by Sunday, August 4, 2024!
(If you’ve already applied – thanks! Applications submitted by the June 30 deadline will receive priority consideration from the PTP team)
Working in government is one of the most strategic ways to impact policy-making and shape the national political discourse, but there isn’t always a clear entry point for potential staffers who don’t already have insider connections or training in the workings of Congress or the federal government.
The Progressive Talent Pipeline was created to bring new perspectives, expertise, and energy into government in order to “build the bench” of progressive staff talent and advance progressive priorities and policies. Since 2018, more than 230 PTP-endorsed candidates have secured employment in Congress or the executive branch.
The people constructing and carrying out the policies that govern our society should represent the diversity of the US and be able to understand and respond to the needs of communities that can’t afford high-priced lobbyists. The Progressive Talent Pipeline actively recruits and supports candidates from underrepresented backgrounds — including but not limited to diversity in race, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, class, disability status, and age — as well as life experience, educational background, and geographic roots.
The Progressive Talent Pipeline endorses candidates of all experience levels – whether you’re just starting out, transitioning from another profession, a mid- or senior-level policy or communications professional looking to work in a government role, or a current government employee looking to take the next step.
