Full-Time Program Manager at Men’s Shelter

Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION: This position oversees all aspects of the assigned program, which directly addresses residents’ barriers and enable a smooth transition from homelessness or unstable housing into permanent supportive housing. The Program Manager ensures service delivery consistent with the Compass mission, values, and vision through appropriate planning, implementation, operation, and evaluation of assigned program. The Program Manager also seeks meaningful cross-program collaborations through knowledge of other agency programs, initiatives and strategic plans. The Program Manager is expected to provide on-site case management, schedule management, and supervision of program staff.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Blaine Center Men’s Shelter provides a safe, warm place to sleep for 60 male-identifying individuals experiencing homelessness. Guests are served dinner and breakfast and have access to case management and support services and hygiene care. Blaine Center is a 24-hour shelter and day facility that provides guests access to housing-focused program services. Access to Blaine Center is by in-person referral only, from partner organizations and our Client Services Office in Pioneer Square.

LOCATION: Seattle Center (Seattle, WA)

REPORTS TO: Director of Emergency Services

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SCHEDULE: Weekdays plus evenings and weekends as needed (on-call for emergencies & staffing needs)

SALARY RANGE: DOE and within Compass ranges

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree is strongly desired, master’s preferred in social work or related field, or relevant work experience, certificate and/or equivalent continuing professional development or education.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a human service setting with homelessness or supportive housing, mental illness, substance abuse, employment, or domestic violence organization, desired.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in direct supervision/management of people, desired.
  • Experience in developing and enforcing operating and services procedures, identifying and implementing best practices in working with homeless individuals, required.
  • Experience in outreach, case management and other direct service delivery for homeless families and individuals, required.
  • Experience in grant writing and contract negotiation, desired.
  • Familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, required.
