Full-Time Program Coordinator at Renton Veterans Center
Job Description
ABOUT THE POSITION: The Program Coordinator provides oversight for the Renton Veteran’s Center Family Program. Supervisory duties include the direction-setting and development of the two Family Case Managers and the building and enhancement of The Children’s Program. Additionally, incumbent provides trauma-informed case management and advocacy to families, including parenting support, children’s and youth groups, and individual counseling sessions. The Coordinator maintains the safety and comfort of 58 veteran households and provides cooperative advocacy, planning and coordination of services for veteran families.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: With permanent housing for veteran individuals and families, our Compass Veterans Center: Renton (RVC) offers a variety of veteran-specific services. Reading groups and art classes for children in our youth center engage young residents, and case management services help adults find the support they need. The program is open to homeless veterans or homeless veterans with families, earning between zero to 60 percent Area Median Income.

LOCATION: Renton, WA
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SCHEDULE: Weekdays with occasional evenings and weekends as required
SALARY RANGE: DOE and within Compass ranges

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field strongly desired, master’s degree a plus; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Minimum of one years’ experience in a human services setting dealing with issues of homelessness or supportive housing, mental illness, substance abuse, employment, domestic violence, etc. strongly desired.
A minimum of 1 years’ experience in direct supervision/management of people, desired.
Familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, required.
Experience working with veterans, children and families, required.
