SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Located just outside of Seattle, WA, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public institute of technology in Washington State, that provides students with the latest cutting edge skills relevant to today’s workplace. LWTech offers ten applied bachelor’s degrees, more than 40 associate degrees and 93 professional certificates, in 43 areas of study, including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Summary of Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of technical and office support duties within the enrollment services office. Maintain data and develop reports using the student information management system, registration systems, desktop software applications, and other computer based tools. Support all admissions functions; maintain program enrollment process to assure accurate seat availability data for programs; receive and process admissions applications and posts transfer credits to student records as assigned Apply knowledge of modern office procedures and systems to provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff. Work is performed under general supervision. This position reports to the director of enrollment services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Support technology based office initiatives such as monitoring online services, processing electronic forms, inputting data in the student information management system, using shared electronic files, etc.
• Coordinate and schedule established office and system reports; create ad hoc reports as needed; collect, select, classify, and compile data from multiple sources and make summary reports as required; assist in data analysis and reporting trends
• Process records requests including transcripts, academic records, and other official files
• Provide excellent customer service via phone, email, chat, and in person
• Add, drop, and withdraw students from classes; perform registration activities at the office counter and online using appropriate technology
• Perform a variety of activities associated with office operations requiring initiative and independent judgment such as verifying enrollment in response to requests from funding agencies and loan processing agencies, researching unpaid enrollment, and responding to student requests
• Input grades using the student information management system for end of the quarter grading
• Initiate routine correspondence, reports, and other similar matters as required
• Assist with development of office procedures; maintain written record of office procedures
• Apply specialized knowledge of particular facets of the registration and admissions functions
• Accomplish all duties necessary to relieve supervisor of office details and/or routine administrative matters
• Perform a variety of related clerical duties in line with contemporary office procedures and practices, college procedures and practices.
• Exercise some independence of action in routine administrative matters, preparing correspondence, handling inquiries from prospective, current, and former students, employees, and other parties, and other matters of similar complexity in a tactful, pleasant and thorough manner.

QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college-level coursework preferred
• Two years’ experience in office support position required; experience in a college setting preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to communicate in a courteous, helpful, and clearly understood manner
• Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize time and duties efficiently
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact and discretion in contacts with students, staff, and vendors
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs as well as knowledge of office equipment and online environments
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student (or client) population

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Compensation & Work Schedule This is a union covered position. As defined by the current classified bargained agreement, newly hired employees shall be placed between Step C $3,480 and Step F $3,876 of the salary schedule in Appendix A of the Classified Union Bargaining Agreement. Employees hired with an associate degree will be placed at minimum of step D. Employees hired with a bachelor’s or master’s degree will be placed at minimum of step E. Ongoing (Step G – Step M ) step advancement is defined by the classified bargained agreement. Salary placement for current classified employees is per the classified bargained agreement. This position works 40 hours per week. Working hours may vary but are typically between the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday; schedule to be determined by the supervisor.
