Full-Time Production Supervisor

Job Description

Munters is looking for a Production Supervisor to manage and supervise the plastic production operations. To ensure a manufacturing environment workflow, schedule, quality, and safety compliance are efficient and maintained.  Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.  Perform plastic fabrication activities as necessary, working within the limits of standard or accepted practice.

Requirements:

  • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication & appropriate technical skills.
  • Professional manner and team-oriented, with strong organizational & time management.
  • Previous experience with leadership in a manufacturing environment and strong lean background.
  • Communicate with leadership, concerning any issues that may affect product quality, delivery, and cost. Enforce employee work schedules and modify scheduling with leadership roles to ensure timeliness of production
  • Collect and compile data related to production operations and key performance indicators and provide regular and special reports and information as needed and requested by Management.
  • Maintain knowledge of quality requirements as defined by engineering prints and specifications. Maintain working knowledge of ISO, PSHA, and EPA requirements. Keep abreast of personnel qualifications and certification as related to in-house work. Perform area audits and attend all safety meetings.  Observe all safety rules and maintain ISO-9001 quality management standards.
  • Provide training and coaching to new and existing production associates. Provide feedback on team member(s) performance throughout the period, as circumstances arise, and at review time. Report to Operations Manager on safety concerns, significant matters involving work infractions, training requirements, and performance issues and recommend actions to improve productivity, efficiency, and safety.  Maintain related documentation as required.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals and resolve problems and maintain a specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments and requirements, and policies.
  • Plan and assign work to production lines/areas. Assign staff to production lines/areas to maintain workflow and ensure compliance with production schedules and quality requirements.  Meet with operation managers and area leads to communicate priorities and other significant information required to meet production goals and schedules.
  • Work from production schedules, bill of materials (BOM), cut lists, engineering drawings, methods sheets, shop packets, and other production documents. Actively perform production tasks similar to those of group members as required to understand demand and maintain workflow.
  • Knowledge of plastic welding, plastic fabrication, and FRP fabrication and bonding.

Education/Qualifications:

  • AS-Business Management or High School Diploma and 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role in Manufacturing.
  • Demonstrates leadership attributes, willingness to help solve problems, and excels in a team environment.
  • Understands design for manufacturability and experience with continuous improvement
  • Computer literacy, MS Office, Glovia, or similar ERP
  • ISO experience

Tools and Equipment:

  • Computer, forklift, hand power tools, CNC equipment, robots, drill press, soldering, irons, measuring devices
  • Physical Demand:
  • Moderate to Heavy: occasional lifting, pushing, and carrying 50 lbs
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend crouch, kneel, climb, maneuver, stoop, squat, grasp, and reach.
  • Visual and aural acuity
  • Listening
