Full-Time Product Manager (Remote Friendly)
Job Description
The Product Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned services including but not limited to planning, development, introduction, and maintenance of assigned solutions. Responsibilities include gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product roadmap, release planning, and working closely with internal and external development, and external vendors supporting various aspects of the platform. The Product Manager coordinates activities with all stakeholders including engineering, marketing, IT, PMO, vendors and customer support teams to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met ensuring that the product is aligned with the company’s overall strategy and goals.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer proficiency and drive growth
- Serve as a subject matter expert within the company for assigned services, prepare and deliver presentations to customers, team members and executives
- Deliver approved product requirements in the form of feature stories to engineering for development, testing and deployment
- Work closely with internal and vendor engineering teams during Program Increment (PI) Planning workshops to prioritize, groom, and schedule feature stories for upcoming PIs
- Participate in agile development methodologies by maintaining and prioritizing feature backlog, daily standups, grooming sessions, and related activities
- Create buy-in for the product roadmap both internally and with key external partners
- Serve as product evangelist and champion to build awareness, understanding, and grow adoption
- Act as the primary escalation point of contact for customer reported issues and ensure timely action and resolution
- Manage internal and external resources (consultants/vendors) as required to complete assignments and achieve targets as defined
- Foster a creative and innovative culture with a strong emphasis on team collaboration
- Reach out to customers, soliciting feedback on product and services as appropriate
- Responsible for reviewing product data to ensure company is kept up to date on new developments regarding competition
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish consensus around technology gaps, future architectural solutions, define high-level and detailed requirements
- Document, publish, and maintain all processes, procedures, and guidelines for assigned products and services
- Work with the Somos User Group by partnering with cross functional internal departments and consultants on quarterly meetings and ongoing engagement with User Group participants
- Collaborate with customer engagement on outreach campaigns, webinars, and other customer events, and drive product launches
- Develop product pricing and positioning strategies
- Prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
- Grow annual revenue per assigned targets
- Partner with Somos Help Desk for assigned services, as needed
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EDUCATION
- Proven experience in product management with a track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
- Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to management
- Experience working in an agile development environment
- Demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring and motivating teams to successfully deliver value
- Experience with telecom industry standards and trade organizations
- Skilled at working effectively with and leading cross functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Works independently and self-initiates solutions to meet learning needs and to meet the needs based on scope of work
- 3 years of product management, product and/or program management experience meeting customer needs
- 5 years professional work experience
- Prior work experience of working in cross-functional teams to develop solutions to meet the needs of clients
- Bachelor’s degree
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EDUCATION
- Telecomm experience preferred
- Background in Toll-Free Telecommunications preferred with a solid technical understanding of telecommunications and/or hands-on experience in software development, web technologies, messaging, and voice call routing
