Full-Time Product Manager
Job Description
At iwoca, our mission is to reach 1 million small businesses with innovative financing solutions that make it easier for them to run their business. One of the biggest challenges that small businesses face is getting invoices paid, making them less productive, less profitable and less in control. iwocaPay is an invoice checkout solution that blends the best of payments and finance to get invoices paid faster.
We’re looking for a product manager to join our team, focused on building and evolving iwocaPay to become more intelligent, accessible and modular and ultimately provides businesses a better way to get paid. iwocaPay is a start-up inside of iwoca – we operate as a cross-functional team in a collaborative and dynamic working environment. As the product manager, you’ll be working with tech, design, operations to develop excellent user experiences in complex flows. You’ll have the opportunity to define and develop what iwocaPay becomes as we scale the product to thousands of businesses who need it.
What’s your role?
You’ll make sure we ship great stuff and make informed choices
- You’re in charge of our product roadmap – deciding what we’re building next, why and how it’s rolled out. You’ll work closely with design and tech to ensure we’re delivering an excellent customer experience within a feasible and defined scope.
- You’ll be able to blend qualitative insight with quantitative analysis to feed into the strategic direction of the product roadmap, ensuring Product & Tech are working on the most important problems and that we understand what impact we’re having.
- You’ll manage the on-the-ground processes, which could include breaking down larger pieces into smaller user stories, stress-testing new features / ideas through user testing, laying the groundwork and evaluating the value / feasibility for future releases, etc.
- Working with the tech lead, you’ll also support the development of a healthy product, tech & design team, ensuring the team has the space to reflect and review on progress and ways of working.
You’ll advocate for our customers and be an expert on our product and systems
- You’ll become an expert on our customers – both buyers and sellers – and use this knowledge to help us ruthlessly prioritise the scope and requirements of what we build.
- You’ll become the expert on how iwocaPay works, including our OpenBanking integration, the structure of our financing product and our operational and CRM systems and workflows.
- You’ll work with other iwoca core teams to help understand, evaluate or unblock dependencies — and help us define how iwocaPay thrives within iwoca’s core tech stack.
You’ll be key to ensuring we’re aligned
- You’ll make sure what’s in the roadmap aligns with the overall strategy, operational priorities, and go-to-market plans.
- You’ll invest in collaborating with other teams to diversify your perspective on current and future product development opportunities.
- You’ll actively communicate what tech and product are working on to a wider audience, share knowledge and be responsible for great documentation around project scopes, release plans, troubleshooting etc.
Requirements
What you’ll bring:
We look for people that are smart, humble, motivated and who are always looking to improve. Ideally, you’ll have:
- Experience in working on early stage or scaling products, as a Product Manager or in a related role (design, development etc in a cross-functional team).
- A history of delivering business impact. You can quantify the impact you’ve had in your current and previous roles.
- An understanding of technology. You need to be able to discuss the possibilities and limitations of our platform with our engineers (Though you don’t need to be an engineer yourself and won’t need to write detailed technical specifications).
- A desire to understand our customers, what motivates them and what frustrates them, and identify opportunities to solve their problems.
- Experience with a ‘test and learn’ approach to growing a product. You’re comfortable taking on risk and making decisions with limited initial information – and then updating your views as you learn what works and what doesn’t.
- Ability to communicate with extreme clarity. You’ll be able to concisely and clearly explain the benefits of our new products – internally, and, much more importantly, to our customers.
