Full-Time Product Designer
Job Description
UK-based applicants only with the ability to attend the Cornwall office a minimum of a couple of days a month. Full-time preferred but part-time will be considered.
We’re looking for a Product Designer to join the RouteNote Creative Team.

Responsibilities include:
- Define project requirements in collaboration with Product Managers, Design Lead and Developers
- Carry out extensive research to understand the task at hand and create informed, effective, appropriate design solutions
- Understand and represent users in product decisions with cross-functional peers during tradeoff, timeline, and experience discussions
- Create and execute product design strategy
- Practice time forecasting for project work and ensure all stakeholders are informed
- Take ownership over your work. Hold yourself accountable, take responsibility every step of the way
- Succinctly produce informed concepts and prototypes. Know-how and when to create, organise and combine flows, user stories, sketches, wireframes, and deliver specs in organised files
- Create concepts, update flows, or refine designs that represent the big-thinking work.
- Balance a people-focused design mentality against business requirements. Refine your designs through feedback, whether through hands-on research, user research, or designing options for testing
- Design high-quality product experiences across various platforms including web, desktop, and mobile whilst caring about the impact
- Focus on holistic design
- Practice storytelling through design
- Modify, revise and work collaboratively within existing designs to meet business goals.
- Stay up to date on industry trends. Bring new ideas to the table
- Participate in regular design reviews where you’ll seek out feedback on your designs at specific project points and incorporate relevant feedback
- Participate in and shape design team culture – practice empathy
- Impact business goals through the effective and efficient development of design solutions
You will need:
- A portfolio
- Proven track record in high-quality UX/UI implementation
- Be comfortable making mistakes. Be open and willing to learn from them.
- To provide examples of lived behaviour and alignment with our team values
- Proven experience in inspiring creative ideas and working successfully with product owners
- Adaptability to suit working in a dynamic work environment and fast-growing company
- Have proven design skills, experience shipping products, and understand what it takes to build valuable and meaningful experiences.
- Familiarity with software platforms such as Sketch, Figma, Photoshop (or equivalent UX/UI industry-standard tools)
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
Desirable
- Familiarity with Design file version control such as Plant, Abstrakt (or equivalent UX/UI industry-standard tools)
- Familiarity with Project management tools such as Asana, Producteev (or equivalent UX/UI industry-standard tools)
- Comfortable working with extensive UI kits and sketch created product libraries
- Experience working with Auto-Layout in Sketch
- Experience working with Agile project management
- Experience working with HTML/CSS
