Part-Time Pro Shop Clerk
Job Description
This position pays $9.00/hr
JOB SUMMARY:
Assists the Pro Shop Assistant with managing and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, merchandising, promotions, and enforcement of rules and policies.
JOB DUTIES:
- Responds to requests for information from the general public, staff, and/or other interested parties; answers routine questions; and directs callers/visitors to the appropriate locations or staff;
- Provides excellent customer service and assistance to all patrons;
- Controls and manages play; ensures customer check-in and fee collection;
- Accepts standard payment and issues receipts;
- Restocks sales floor, assists in conducting periodical inventories of merchandise;
- Stays informed of and promotes all golf course activities and services;
- Assists with handicap program;
- Provides assistance as needed during tournaments and outings;
- Ensures clubhouse is kept clean, neat, orderly, and secure;
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
***PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A REGULAR PART-TIME POSITION. CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE OF GOLF RULES/GOLF COURSE OPERATIONS, AND CASH HANDLING/RETAIL EXPERIENCE ARE ALL A PLUS.***
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and one year of retail experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):
Knowledge of:

- The game and rules of golf;
- Customer service principles;
- Monetary calculations;
- Computers and related software applications
SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
Skill in:
- Operating point of sale equipment and calculator;
- Providing customer service;
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction;
- Using computers and related software applications.

- Meeting the general public to establish and maintain good working relationships;
- Making monetary calculations accurately and rapidly;
- Operating a point of sale system and calculator.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
