Full-Time Pricing Analyst

Overview

Western National is seeking an experienced Pricing Analyst to join our Product and Data Management Team. This position will develop, analyze, and implement innovative rating programs and product enhancements initially for Non-Standard Auto with potential to assist in analysis of additional lines of business.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of pricing experience within the insurance industry, preferably in Property and Casualty. This role will perform data analysis, develop pricing, conduct rate reviews, perform indications, and participate in state filings. The person in this role will frequently communicate across various departments and work to achieve company profitability objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive reviews and analysis of data to develop rates, rating plans and pricing including forecasting profitability levels and overall performance for assigned products in all states.
  • Analyzes existing policy data to identify trends and relationships and reports results and recommendations to management.
  • Establishes a regular schedule of product rate reviews and recommends rate refinements as appropriate.
  • Researches and monitors competitor products/prices and recommends innovative pricing and product enhancement.
  • Participates in the development, submission, and management of rate, rule, and form filings.
  • Provides technical knowledge in rate and coverage analysis of new and existing lines of business.
  • Provides pricing input for corporate projects.
  • Analyzes financial impact of new state regulations on pricing and profitability as appropriate.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Pricing Analysis experience within the Insurance Industry, preferably in Property and Casualty.
  • Ability to accurately identify, document and communicate business problems and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization as well as external contacts.
  • Advanced MS Office skills with strong focus on Excel is required.
  • Experience with Tableau and SERFF a plus.
  • Experience in Property & Casualty insurance, including Non-Standard Auto, is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
