Full-Time Plumbing Inspector
Job Description
The City of Oshkosh, Wisconsin is searching for a full-time Plumbing Inspector. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with a full benefits package. The hourly pay range is $28.88 – $33.00.
The Plumbing Inspector works primarily in the Inspections Division of the Community Development Department and uses training and experience in plumbing methods and regulations to review plans, perform skilled inspections and issue permits. The position evaluates new and existing residential, commercial and industrial building projects to secure compliance with local and state codes for plumbing regulations. Work takes place in both the field and office, and involves thorough record-keeping and documentation. The Plumbing Inspector also supports other building, HVAC, electric and zoning code inspectors.
Qualified candidates will:
- Be a graduate of a technical college Plumber Apprentice program
- Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a licensed Journeyman Plumber in the State of WI
- Have a UDC certificate in Plumbing and the ability to obtain other certifications, including UDC Building, UDC HVAC, UDC Electric within two years of hire
- Have Cross Connection Control Tester Certification, or the ability to gain this certificate from a State of Wisconsin approved program within one year of hire
- Possess a valid Driver’s License
